Come join my family, friends, and supporters as we take the next step on the path to turning Springfield around. I have heard your concerns and understand the need to create jobs, improve schools, and address public safety. I heard you say that you are not satisfied with city services, taxes are too high, and that you are losing hope. I can accomplish nothing by my self, so please come and join me in “Putting Springfield First.”

I addressed the situation in a recent Reminder Publications article. Below is an excerpt.

“[Benton Park has] been in our community for many, many years and those of us who have grown up traveling up and down that corridor, we’ve seen open container violations in the parking lot. We’ve seen illegal loitering in that parking lot and in front of that establishment,” Ward 3 City Councilor and Stop Access organization representative Melvin Edwards said. “We have seen littering occurring up and down the area in front of and to either side of the establishment.”
